McGregor’s Top Shelf is a unique gourmet and specialty shop located just a few blocks from the Mississippi River in downtown McGregor, Iowa. The store was opened July 1, 2008 by owners Roger & Lora Knott with the intent of combining a unique shopping experience for visitors looking for hard to find specialty items yet offering many staple items needed to support the local interests. The owners and staff of McGregor’s Top Shelf take great pride in serving its guests and taking customer care and service to the highest level.

McGregor’s Top Shelf features quality meats including a wide selection from one of Iowa’s leading meat processors, Edgewood Locker. At Top Shelf, our patrons can select almost any type or cut of meat including fish, pork, beef, poultry and buffalo. We also carry harder to find items such as snapping turtle and catfish jerky. We take pride in the quality of our products and offer a guarantee on what we sell. The majority of our beef and pork products are grown and processed locally with pride and integrity.

If meat isn’t what’s on your menu, we have many shelves stocked with products offered by well known companies such as Paula Deen, Stonewall Kitchens, Wildly Delicious, Robert Rothschild, Republic of Tea, and many more. We are sure to please any sweet tooth with snacks and fine chocolates from Marich and Lake Champlain. Top Shelf also features many locally produced products such as maple syrup and cheese just to mention a few. While visiting our store, be sure to check out our wonderful wine and liquor cellar to wet your whistle. We have over 120 unique wines from local and afar! We carry a full line of liquor, all at affordable prices.

We have recently discovered your wonderful store. We found an excellent selection of items ranging from seasonings to sauces, meats to cheese and dips, and everything in-between that a foodie could ever want and best of all the service is superior. The people there can give you suggestions, hints, tips, and tricks to all of the products. We love it as well as all of the people we have cooked for.
